- We should have a debrief from previous Release Managers to review how things have gone before. Invite Dan Aitken and Nick Ruest to speak to their experiences. Will try to schedule for next Roadmap meeting.
-
Islandora & Drupal 8 Prospectus - Approved, next steps?
- Covered below in CLAW updates
- Documentation IG (Melissa): Has not met.
- Dev Ops (Mark Jordan): Has not met.
- Metadata IG (Jordan (for Jennifer)): Notes. Good discussion and demos, particularly of Metadata Analyzer.
-
IR interest group (Mark):
- Met yesterday. Discussion about Scholar embargo issue. Background discussion here.
- Also discussed ORCID integration. FLVC is getting involved in Islandora Scholar and has interest in ORCID integration. They would like to discuss with Donald.
-
Security Interest Group (Rosie):
- Met for first time yesterday. Notes. Decided on forming an emergency response team of people with coding skills and merge permissions, who can respond quickly to issues which may arise (based on Mozilla approach), and work with secrecy until a patch is ready. Will request volunteers during next Committers Call so we have more Committers involved. Working through this document. Still working on Terms of Reference for the IG overall.
- Drupal 8 - Voted in by Roadmap at previous meeting. Tickets resulting:
- June sprint - Led by Jared Whiklo
- Sprint Milestone
- Intro doc for Islandora CLAW - Complete for now, but feedback still welcome. It can always expand.

Performance/Scaling (June 24)

June 23
- Apparent from OR2016 discussions that OAI/PMH is much more popular in the EU and needs some attention in F4. There is a module, but it needs maintenance.
- Import/Export is a great interest. BagIt has broad appeal and seems likely to be the way the project will go. BagIt is supported by other projects, such as DSpace.
- Project Plan
- OR2016
- Modeling your Repository Objects with the Portland Common Data Model (PCDM)
- RDF/LDP Resource/Graph creation and validation using dynamic OWL 2 reasoning in Fedora Commons 4 repositories or “how to kill your in code data modeling”
- State of The CLAW Address
- Vagrant up!
-
Hylandora!
- Work on shared infrastructure. Nick is working with Erin Fahy and Francis Kayiwa from Stanford.
- iCampBC2: Sold out.
- iCampMO: Registrations have begun.
- Islandoracon: Hamilton, ON, May 15 - 19. Planning meeting pending - Melissa will send out email.
- Brian: A couple of new clients migrating to Islandora. Big news: hiring a new Islandora developer! (they can work remotely!)
- Kirsta: Also hiring. Three open positions, 2 devs and a systems person. Most of the UTSC unit was at OR2016 and are very excited about CLAW and Fedora 4. Close to submitting a cCLA so they can contribute oral histories Solution Pack to Labs.
- Carell: Nothing to report.
- David: Great Fedora 4 workshop at OR2016. Full day, about 40 people. Organizing user group meetings later this year alongside other events. Fedora Camp at Columbia around the end of November. Nick Ruest, Ben Armintor, Adam Weed, Diego Pino, David Wilcox, Andrew Woods for instructors. 3 day camp + 1 day local user group meeting.
- Eric: Has been on the road showing off Islandora and has gotten good feedback.
- Jordan: Ongoing migrations, lots of training, getting individual libraries online.
- Melissa: Mostly reported above. New cCLA from University of Oklahoma.
- Nick: Has been traveling too much to have anything to report.
- Rosie: Preparing for iCampBC next month. Big news from UPEI: kindredpsaces.ca, a collection of LMM books and periodicals. Books not completely digitized, but covers are. Major effort from UPEI and the LM Institute.
- Will: R&D project on the go for a Fedora 3 replacement and ways to scale Fedora 3. Taking parallel streams on this and Fedora 4, based on client demands.
- Chair: Melissa
- Notes: David
