Default subject form in 7 combined multiple types of subjects (e.g. topical, geographic, temporal), into a single field. Decided on mapping tailored to default form, while allowing opt-out to those who crafted their MODS forms more carefully.
-
Discussed possibility of having a meetup at Islandoracon/doing some kind of demo or workshop, but don’t have an official time slot. Stay tuned!

- Open Repositories was last week, good presence from Islandora and Fedora communities. A lot of sessions were recorded.
- Fedora: getting ready to do sprints for next version (integrating OCFL). Completed poll shows chosen sprint dates; formal announcement about schedule soon.
- Jeffrey: Hoping to have a test install of Islandora 8 this summer. Trying to figure out how the migration will move forward.
- Kirsta: Going to jump in with Islandora 8 to support a Tamil-language-based digital collections project. Have another CLAW-based project that they’re going to migrate, hoping that features catch up as they go.
- Marcus: Same, looking forward to be able to support the Islandora 8 work. (Also congrats for becoming a committer!)
- Martha: nothing to report.
- Michael: nothing to report.
- Wei: nothing to report.
