- Dreamforce (Sept. 12-14)- Open Source Commons will be hosting a luncheon at Dreamforce; advance registration is required
- Chicago Sprint (Oct. 30-31)- Space is limited, and registration is required. Some DataGen team members will be attending; Allison is in charge of new member onboarding for this Sprint. Cori said it is not yet decided if there will be a hybrid component to the in-person Sprint event (to be decided in late Sept.).
- Brief discussion of scheduling a half-day "working meeting" in the coming months, instead of an open-invitation mini-sprint. Stay tuned!
- Cori will get 2 persistent orgs set up (1 for each) for our team to use, for Sprints and other project stuff.
- Rules/guidelines for the use of these orgs will be developed by our team during future meetings. For example, sample data should only be loaded into sandbox copies of the org.
- Now that we have a substantive collection of sample recipes, the next layer is what to do after writing a recipe
- How should users/admins incorporate recipes into their organization's project(s)? What are best practices?
- What are some tips for keeping a local repo organized, for example if not using centralized repo for sharing?
- Questions from "beginners" are especially welcome as additions to the Snowfakery Issues list, so we can keep improving our documentation (can use specific tag for "onboarding" issues)
- Adjacent to the task of creating "fake data", CCI has a relatively new feature for moving data between orgs (thank you, Paul!)
- Look for an announcement in the coming weeks, for an online training session covering this CCI feature
- Next meeting is Wednesday, Oct-4 at 2PM ET / 11AM PT, and likewise every first Wednesday of the month.
