Project Team Meeting September 2023

Dreamforce (Sept. 12-14)- Open Source Commons will be hosting a luncheon at Dreamforce; advance registration is required
Chicago Sprint (Oct. 30-31)- Space is limited, and registration is required. Some DataGen team members will be attending; Allison is in charge of new member onboarding for this Sprint. Cori said it is not yet decided if there will be a hybrid component to the in-person Sprint event (to be decided in late Sept.).
Brief discussion of scheduling a half-day "working meeting" in the coming months, instead of an open-invitation mini-sprint. Stay tuned!

Cori will get 2 persistent orgs set up (1 for each) for our team to use, for Sprints and other project stuff.
Rules/guidelines for the use of these orgs will be developed by our team during future meetings. For example, sample data should only be loaded into sandbox copies of the org.

Now that we have a substantive collection of sample recipes, the next layer is what to do after writing a recipe
How should users/admins incorporate recipes into their organization's project(s)? What are best practices?
What are some tips for keeping a local repo organized, for example if not using centralized repo for sharing?
Questions from "beginners" are especially welcome as additions to the Snowfakery Issues list, so we can keep improving our documentation (can use specific tag for "onboarding" issues)

Adjacent to the task of creating "fake data", CCI has a relatively new feature for moving data between orgs (thank you, Paul!)
Look for an announcement in the coming weeks, for an online training session covering this CCI feature

Next meeting is Wednesday, Oct-4 at 2PM ET / 11AM PT, and likewise every first Wednesday of the month.
