Project Team Meeting May 2023

Present

The main topic of discussion was Upcoming goals for Data Gen and/or Snowfakery Project

For example, Diverse name provider, or realistic-sounding school names
Allison, Aaron, and Paul have been working on that and will schedule a mini-sprint to finish those off, once scheduled then all project members will be invited if interested)
Investigate a way to somehow include those kinds of things in Snowfakery or another place to officially reside in Open Source Commons library

Vikki is making her way through onboarding tasks and Trailhead, and will suggest doc improvements and/or ask for help along the way
Allison created a new tag for “onboarding” issues (suggested improvements) in our repo
Outdated documentation (in the Trailhead? where?) refers to Python version 8, which now should say version 10
Eileen (working on Windows) offered to help Paul in working on updating the installation docs for Windows
Andrew has been working on creating a single executable, that prospective users can download and run, that automatically installs all the pieces you need in one fell swoop, whether user is on Mac, Windows, or Linux (this is not the exact list, but for example: VsCode, SF CLI, Python, Pipx, Github desktop or Git). [This would be awesomely automagical!]

Reminder to all, that Github has a feature to discuss anything, and it is a welcome thing to ask for clarification there (Allison says OK to @mention her or other team members) because it is built for collaborating
Some material on Issues List hasn’t been reviewed in a long time, and may be outdated and suitable for closing the issue

Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, at 2PM Eastern / 11AM Pacific.
