User testing plan

The primary aim of this user testing is to focus on the smoothness of the user's operation the level editor and the appearance and the usability of the overall level.

Preparation

  • Questions
  • Notebook
  • Paper for notes

Introduction

Before we conduct the interview, we will introduce the game to the user and render them have basic impressions and interaction methods. We will also provide the picture of the map design and let the user plays with the game on a notebook. The main task of this user testing can be divided into three parts, including the connection between different levels, ending position,s and the map design. Thus, during the test we want to have a comprehensive judgment from the user based on the integrity, game difficulty, and how well the player understands the process of interaction, and whether there are any problems with the interface.

Tasks

After viewing these pictures, the player will answer the following four questions based on the interface and their own feelings.

  • Do you think this game editor can help you stimulate your interest in playing this game?
  • Is there anything that needs to be improved in this game editor to help you learn about the game?
  • What do you think of the whole interaction when you interact with the level editor?
  • what do you think of the overall interface design (map design and end portal)?
  • What do you think of the difficulty of this game in level 4 and level 1?
