Sprint 4 Game user testing
In sprint 4, we mainly conducted user tests on three players in the form of interviews. These three players do not play with this escape game before. Through this user test, our main purpose is to test the integrity and aesthetic of the game, and whether they are willing to promote this game to others.
Question 1:Recording the time to complete a level for each participates. Asking them did the game feel too long, short, or just right.
Participates 1: the game is just right. When I play the game, I can clearly feel the difficulty of the game, but the length difference between each level is not obvious. I think the first level is more difficult, and there is a place where it will get stuck.
Participate 2: I think the game time is just right, but there are bugs in the game when I cross the bridge for two levels, which makes it impossible to pass the level normally.
Participate 3: I feel that compared to the duration; its game content is not rich enough. During the game, the only behavior of the character is to run and jump, which will make me feel bored easily. When playing different levels, I think level 1 is the most difficult, so the difficulty of the game is not increasing.
Question 2: What is your first impression of the game?
Participate 1: I was very impressed with that game character because the game character is a bit scary, but I have to admit that this character is consistent with the overall game effect. I was quite impressed with a part of the background of the third level because it is a solid color background, which makes the entire game interface clearer.
Participate 2: I think the operation feel of this game is not very smooth, and there are often lags. The recorded time is white, and sometimes it will be the same color as the wall, and the time cannot be seen. The button in the upper right corner is also very small and difficult to find.
Participate 3: I really like the overall style of the game, which can give me a sense of science and technology. It is better if the desktop wallpaper could be more technological. In the texture part of the game map, the bridge is represented by a line, which makes me misunderstand.
Question 3: Would you like to recommend the game to others? How would you describe this game to someone who hasn’t played it?
Participate 1: I know this is an escape game. If it is a two-player game, I would recommend it to others to play with.
Participate 2: I would like to recommend it to friends, even though are some games similar to this one. The overall atmosphere of this game is what my friends like.
Participate 3: I don't recommend recommending this game to others, because the current content of the game is still relatively monotonous. Compared with the existing games, it feels like a game that still needs improvement.
Question 4: Is there anything that you did not like about the game?
Participate 1: At the beginning of the game, there is no instruction to move and jump. So maybe it is better to make a game description to introduce when entering the game
Participate 2: I think this task looks very strange, I don't know what it is, like an "Ant-Man". Its hands are like two claws, which makes me think it can climb a wall, but in fact, it can't.
Participate 3: When I play the game, the icons of the buff and debuff effects cannot let me know its effects quickly unless I get in touch with them. This may stimulate my interest in this game, but I still want to know their meaning.
From the perspective of the integrity of the game, most players believe that the color matching and themes of the interface are relatively uniform. When designing the map, we considered the need to adjust the length of the map at different levels, but we ignored the difficulty of the map. This leads players to think that the length of the game map is moderate after playing the game, but the difficulty does not show an increasing trend. During the test, we found that two players did not pass the first level. This is because it is more difficult for players to operate on the continuous jumping steps. Compared with the first level, more players think that the later levels are easier. Therefore, in terms of the uniformity of the game, the choice of colors and themes are relatively uniform, but some improvements are needed when designing the level of difficulty.
From the perspective of functionality, some players think that the content of the game is not rich enough. Because the characters in the current game can only perform basic operations such as running and jumping. Some players put forward the idea of allowing the character to crawl on the wall because he thinks this interactive is more interesting and novel. It can be seen from the interview results that only some players think this game is interesting and attractive, so most players will not recommend this game to others. In addition, in order to let players know how to play this game, perhaps a more detailed game operation guide should be added to the game's homepage, because some players ask how to control the characters in the game.
