- Welcome and approval of minutes
- Review project Kanban, advance open issues
- Date for next meeting: 22 June 2021, 12:00-13:30 UTC
- The team approves of the previous minutes.
- The team reviewed issues on the Kanban board.
- (JK) The ACV team has worked very hard on revising the structure of ancillary information (tags vs paths, matrices...), but this information will not be visible downstream soon, because they dimensions are not supported by the logical model yet. A change to the model may need to go through an extended approval process and it will take time. Thus, the proposed amendments will use the same structure with relatively long variable names and can still be used with notations. (FS) this link has more information: https://github.com/wmo-im/wmds/wiki/Tags-for-observed-variables and showed https://github.com/wmo-im/issues/190 branch. (LM) We need to figure out how to leverage these tags for them to be really useful.
- #289 - almost ready
- the team discussed the procedure for validating (AM)once the individuals working on an issue have a conclusion, they update the first comment in the issue with the final proposal and tag Jorg as ready. Jorg will verify final proposal and move to 'Ready' status, but may choose to review with entire team first.
- review of invalidation
- #284 - almost ready
- #276 - almost ready
- #234 - Lara will verify that it's valid
- #264 - in validation
- #159 (units) - Gao to confirm that it's valid and ready
- #268 - Lara and Juan will confirm that it's valid and ready
- review of in progress
- #212 - branch will be updated
- #142 - no progress
- #190 - needs WMO guidance, needs green light from Etienne and Luis on moving forward and/or if discussion is needed
- #111 - may be superseded by ACV work and this is probably not the solution, to close and create new one to address the underlying concern
- #112 - Juan will review and follow up as necessary
- #281 - some of these codes belong to different domains, therefore, they will may be repeated in multiple Method tables (JK) it is unfortunate that we divided the methods into multiple tables; perhaps in the future, we combine these tables into one. Domains would be better represented by tags. In the meantime, if the same code is relevant to multiple domains, then ensure that the code and definition is entirely the same in both tables. Note, methods are different than instruments.
- Please complete and validate branches by next meeting so we can make a determination on what will/will not go through FT 2021-2.
- Anna: discuss with Mark Hedley about options for including tags in the WMO Codes Registry
Date for next meeting: 15 June 2021, 12:00-13:30 UTC
