This article is a stub. We need to document at least the following here:

How is the lattice data structured.
What type of ID numbers do we have.
How do we conveniently convert from one type to another.
When should we retrieve quantities from LatticeData, when from the MacroscopicPropertyCache, and when from the NeighbouringDataManager?
