The 9 Norse Worlds

There are 9 worlds strung together by the branches of the ash tree, Yggdrasil (Heritage Daily, 2018). These are:

  2. Alfheim
  3. Muspelheim
  4. Vanaheim
  5. Niflheim
  6. Nidavellir
  7. Hel
  8. Jotunheimr
  9. Midgard (Earth)

The 9 Norse worlds (Heritage Daily, 2018)

Platforms were designed for five of these worlds: Asgard, Alfheim, Hel, Jotunheimr, and Earth. The intention is to give an impression that the main character, Odin, is running from fire giant Surtr across these various realms, which will cycle through with every level change. This periodic visual change, along with a corresponding change in the background, will bring great visuasl to the player and will fit the story of the game perfectly.
