Kelp
Kelp is a seaweed that can be planted underwater, or cooked to make dried kelp.
Kelp can be mined by hand. Each growth stage of Dulse adds an additional piece when mined.
Kelp generates in kelp forests across most ocean biomes.
Kelp can be placed underwater, atop any solid block. When placed by hand, kelp is given a random age between 0 and 14.
Kelp does not require any light or sky access to grow. Whenever kelp grows, it will extend upwards by 1 block, and its age will increase by 1. At age 15, it stops growing.
Bone meal used anywhere on a kelp stalk will grow the stalk by 1 block, if the top is not at max age.
When a kelp block is broken, the age of the kelp block below it will be randomized between 0 and 14, thus continuing to grow.
Using Shears on the top of Kelp will lock it to it's current age.
Kelp can be smelted to cook dried kelp.
