6. Setup Rodriguez

Before you can make a trace, you have to make a few basic settings in Rodriguez. They will be saved automatically. Once set, you shouldn't have to enter them again.

The settings belong in this area of the Rodriguez window:

Plug in the Arduino before you start Rodriguez.

  • The Arduino you have programmed with the Rodriguez.ino file will show up as an item in the blue selection box. Select the correct serial port.
  • Measure the 5V supply of the Arduino with a multimeter and enter the value in the "V_ref" field. Mine is 4.75V rather than the nominal 5V. If you are using a 3.3V Arduino, measure the voltage on the 3.3V supply of the Arduino.
  • R_Base and R_collector have default values that match my suggested schematic values. If you used different resistor values, enter them here. R_Base is R2. R_collector is R4.
