Profile Editor

A "Share Report" button in the Interface Status view allows you to export an anonymized copy of this interface status to use for getting help or reporting a bug.

Copy to Clipboard

"Copy to Clipboard" just removes your name from all the messages and places a copy of the JSON-formatted report on the clipboard. You can then paste it to a Discord chat or where ever you are getting help. This document is in a machine-readable format so that it can be read by (non-human) tools in addition to any humans that are helping you.

File a Bug

The "File a Bug" button exports this information to a file and opens a browser window to create a bug against the Helios repo. Please use this function responsibly.

Open a browser to Helios Virtual Cockpit issues and put in a few keywords to search if this issue has already been reported.

If the issue is not already reported, then click "File a Bug" in Helios to go ahead and create a new issue. Fill in all available information and give your newly created issue a descriptive title. Attach the file that was exported containing your status report, which will also have been made anonymous. Helios will have opened a Windows Explorer window to the temporary folder where this file was written, so you can easily find it.

Drag and drop this file to the GitHub browser window where it says to do so.

Also attach any relevant log files from the "Documents\Helios" folder if you can.

Double check that you described the problem, i.e. what you were doing and what you expected versus what actually happened.

Control Center

The same dialog is also accessible from the Control Center Console via the "Share" button. In the Control Center Console, the status report will include only Control Center information. So if the problem you are reporting occurred while running the profile in Control Center, then use that dialog. Otherwise, use the "Interface Status" in the Profile Editor, because it includes more information.
