Future Works

So far, the project is designed to track only one satellite automatically at a time. We plan on expanding its capabilities further. The following are the future plans of the project development:

  • Sharing the rotator between multiple controllers with queuing capabilities. (V2.0)
  • IMU implementation to increase positioning accuracy (though, stepper motors are sufficient in doing that).(V2.0)
  • Downloading data automatically and saving all of it locally for later use from satellites.(V2.0)
  • Connecting to multiple rotators at the same time to control them simultaneously. (V2.0)
  • Increasing the pool of instructions between the rotator and main-GUI (V2.0)
  • Ability to transmit information not just receive to satellites and have a duplex connection.(V3.0)
  • Add compatibilty with other satellite tracking software like GPredict, Orbitron etc.(V3.0)
  • Convert the rotator to IoT devices that can communicate with each other seamlessly.(V3.0)
