Or how do I do cool stuff without having to read all the techie stuff..

The Digigurdy is a midi controller, it needs to play though some more software on your device which can be a computer, iPad or phone. The controls on the Digigurdy are identical whichever device you use. For simplicity here we will go through setting up and playing for any iOS iPad or iPhone and Android Phones.

While you could play the Digigurdy through GarageBand, on iOS or a computer, it will only play a single channel, the gurdy needs 6 channels to sound good...

On iOS device we recommend getting Bismarck BS16i it costs, but very little and only need to pay once For Android we recommend FluidSynth, which is free.

To connect to your device you will need the correct adaptor to take a standard usb in. For iPhones and older iPads this will be the apple lighting to USB A adapter, also called a camera kit. For newer iPads and most Android phones they take a USB C to USB A adapter. Devices without headphone sockets require a bit more..

The cable from the digigurdy powers it and controls the midi on your device. Plug the cable into your device with the correct adaptor. On Android phones you will need to activate OTG in the settings for it to see the connection

Your Didgiurdy screen will go through it's start up I will deal with Android devices later... Open garage band select new instrument track for a midi instrument...select something

Your Digigurdy has a few options Select a preset tuning button 1 Select tuning 1 ( it's a gs good all round) accept it the the screen tells you to crank on...turn the crank and you should hear your selected garage band instrument throuhg your iOS device.

Digigurdy-baz is the awkward name for the software that powers the Digi-gurdy.

The Digi-gurdy is an electronic/MIDI hurdy gurdy.
