App Developers: Why you want to implement SEEEDS (7)
SEEDS is creating ecosystems where application and platform developers can provide a free user experiences and be economically rewarded for doing so. As a developer, you are now competing against better-than-free. If you decline to provide this benefit to your users, you will likely be surpassed by those that do.
Just as there are a wide diversity of companies and people running websites online; there can be a diversity of companies, teams, and developers being rewarded for managing and running applications on SEEDS.
-
A Community of Programmers and Partners to Collaborate With
You have an idea for an application for SEEDS. Then reach out to the community and fill your team with those who are already incentivized to grow the SEEDS Ecosystem.
-
Receive Potential Funding From the SEEDS Community to Build Your Idea
With your team, create a proposal to your local or the global DAC and tell the SEEDS community about your application. During this time you will likely receive feedback about how to better your application and you can potentially gain funding to carry you into development.
-
Utilize a Convenient Programming Language (C++ and Web Assembly)
With SEEDS (and EOS) you can build your application with C++ and Web Assembly (which can support a wide variety of languages). This way you won't have to learn new or complicated programming languages to utilize the SEEDS blockchain.
-
A Community of Apps and Developer Support
You won't need as much to build on SEEDS as you would other systems. Because, in SEEDS all developers benefit from the success of the whole ecosystem. This means there is economic incentive for other teams and developers to cooperate and help you succeed. LA will provide support to any team or developer wishing to build applications on SEEDS .
-
Access Open-source and Modular Code/Protocols
The ethos of SEEDS is open-source. You won't need to build your application from the ground up. You can take advantage of the protocols built into SEEDS and those provided by LA's apps and other open source applications. These protocols provide many of the foundational elements any application requires. So, you only need to add in the pieces that are unique to your idea.
This means, that building new applications and realizing novel marketplaces will be much easier, quicker and affordable for developers.
-
Gain a Vested and Shared User Base
You won't need to build your audience from scratch. As discussed in the accounts section, a major benefit of SEEDS is a single user account for all applications. So, there will be an audience of vested Partners within the SEEDS Ecosystem who are economically incentivized to use your platform over existing options. This may increase your ability to gain users.
-
Receive Quicker Revenue Generation
Once Partners begin using your platform. You immediately begin to receive harvests from the SEEDS Ecosystem. This is revenue generation from the Economy of SEEDS for providing more economic activity and contributions to SEEDS . You may choose to build in additional features and benefits that Partners can purchase, further increasing your platforms revenue.
-
Providing Better-Than-Free Apps to Your Users
You'll be able to more easily gain new users who are outside the SEEDS Ecosystem as your platform is able to provide a better-than-free user experience. If users aren't charged for the basic use of your platform you may gain a rapid rise in use, further increasing your share of the application harvest.
Application harvest: As discussed in the 'economics' section, application developers & maintainers receive Seeds relative to their applications contributions to the SEEDS Ecosystem. This way those who maintain and develop applications can monetize their efforts without needing to charge their users. Some developers may decide to have further monetization strategies if they wish. Further, users are more inclined to use these applications as they are able to build their account values and receive compensation for utilizing SEEDS Apps.
-
Join a Shared Community of Apps
When internet based companies create new applications and marketplaces they typically have to do so from the ground up. Rebuilding architecture that has been built and designed many times over in other applications. There is no central repository for sharing protocols between developers, even if they aren't direct competitors. This is largely because there is no economic incentive for these companies to support each-other. SEEDS corrects this.
Through sharing a motivated and vested user-base, various applications can leverage the users of other applications to gain more attention and users. This cooperative approach to growing each application unifies the marketing and rewards of all the once-separate applications. You can collaborate with other application developers to market the entire ecosystem, opposed to your individual applications. Everyone benefits as the ecosystem gains new users and Partners.
As an example, if Airbnb, Uber and Facebook were all built on SEEDS users would have one account for all of these applications. Users would build their accounts and receive compensation for liking on Facebook, riding with Uber, and booking with Airbnb. So, Facebook users would be more motivated to book through Uber than through other ride sharing applications like Lyft or Grab since they share the same incentives for use. This way as Facebook gains more users, Uber indirectly benefits and vise-versa.
-
Seed Distribution for Apps
Funds flow from SEEDS directly into the accounts of the developers hosting and maintaining applications.
The following metrics are used to provide the ranking and score of each application, these metrics are generated from the previous 3 months averages:
-
Contribution Score of daily active users;
This metric encourages and rewards high quality account use. This is designed to not reward or encourage the creation of low-value 'proxy accounts' by application developers.
-
Average transaction volume;
This metric encourages and rewards applications that are being used most frequently by the accounts that access it. This rewards those Apps that are most useful to a minority but possibly not the majority of users.
-
Total transaction volume;
This metric rewards those applications that are most useful to the majority of SEEDS users and that are used most heavily.
-
Total CS gained by Partners;
This metric encourages app developers to design their applications to allow users to build their CS, by building in metrics for increasing community interaction and reputation along with transactions and planted Seeds. This would be able to reward applications that are focused on community engagement and not transacting.
-
Total accounts on-boarded;
This metric encourages and rewards those applications that are focused on marketing and bringing more Partners to SEEDS. This metric is a lifetime total and any accounts that close will be taken down from this metric (to mitigate any benefit from creating proxy accounts).
-
Total Seeds burned through application.
This metric encourages and rewards those applications that are providing services that encourage the burning of Seeds which support the economic model and all Partners.
Applications are ranked by score and receive a proportional share of the harvest dedicated to applications.
Each metric has its own share of the Seeds to disperse. This means apps are competing for a higher placement in each of the sections-.
