User interventions: How to Use EditMOM3 Environment
Instructions for the new functionalities in MOM-CA (Dec. 2013) i.e.: Environment for user collections, charter editor (EditMOM3) and tool for linking image areas with descriptions

- register/login
- Collections > Edit-My-Collections
"create new" or click on the existing collection
Each collection will displays the documents of the collection with the following columns:
- Date (default is 99999999 = undated charter). You can change this the editor.
- the new version of the document ("New Charter " as the default). You can change this the editor.
- Selection for display as "Public version" and "own version". Your current selection has the white back ground. "Public version" displays the description from original document instead of the new description
- Link to the original document

- set a bookmark for the document to be copied into the user collection in the standard environment of MOM
- Go to My-Collections
- Select Bookmarks> drag and drop the desired document into the target collection
- Select collection : displays the documents of the collection with the following columns
- Date (default is 99999999 , can be changed in the editor )
- the new version of the document ("New Charter " as the default , in the editor ( idno , calendar entry ) will be changed)

- Link to the original document
- Change to My-Collections
- Select the desired collection
- Button " New Charter "
You can also copy an existing description of a charter into your own collection (see wiki page.
- Click on the link in the column " new document ": editor environment starts
You see now four panels:

Upper panel ("image area": image, on the right you can select images for current document

three panels in the bottom area ("editor area"): on the left the editor with a small panel at the top for changing menus, on he right supplementary information (attributes, XML validation)

You can change the size of all panels by clicking on the grey area in the bar which seperates each of panels (simple click opens/closes the panel, you can change the size by holding the click on the grey area an dragging the seperation bar)
In the main editor area you see 7 tabs for the input fields

In most fields (eg, calendar entry , date of issue, place of issue, transcription , ...) you can markup the text (eg, for an index as Personen-/Ortsname , the roles exhibitors / Receiver / sigillant, quotes, transcription observations , diplomatic form , references ) with the menus above:
- original: font / lettering / characters , for example, Beginning of the line , abbreviation , corrections , highlighting, dimensions , dates , quotes
- index: content analysis , for example, Exhibitors and receiver , personal name , town name , index entry
- references : References to other documents , footnotes etc.
- formulary : Diplomatic form

The menus change by the current context (tab / box / label / existant markup)

you can store attributes to the input areas and the markup.
The mark up created by these menus is represented by »«
. These guillemet signs either enclose the text marked up or represent a "milestone" markup, describing the general change in the text flow (e.g. line beginnings).
You can select a document in your collections and share it with other users by clicking selecting the document and clicking on the "share document" button in the head of the page. You then have to enter the e-mail-adress of the user you want to share your document with. The document will then appear in the section "shared collections" in the collection in which the original user has put it.
In the head of the EditMOM3-collection environment you find a bread-crump navigation which links to the preview of the currently selected collection. You can access the preview via the "My Collections (preview)" link[*] in the "My functions"-area of the collection list
You can download your private collection as a one XML file (in CEI format) via the preview of your collection. You find a link to "Download collection as XML/CEI in the "My functions" area.

The gray categories can be drawn in the dashed area to add a category. Then the input box appears (eg " normalized form " for personal and place names. ) Incorrect entries in the fields or attributes are marked in red on the right tab " Validation Report " . The image can be enlarged by scrolling the mouse wheel ( often replaced by a strike on the touchpad on the right side , possibly in conjunction with the Ctrl / Ctrl keys) to move and drag and drop the display area.
Fields (eg Siegel descriptions ) and markings (eg line breaks , special characters , abbreviations , emphasis added ) can be linked to image areas. top right of the editor to " Image tool" button . A floating menu appears over the image. "Create New " to create a new annotation : the editor area is hidden. Draw a rectangle with the mouse and click " Save selection " . By clicking on " add metadata " will appear field in which drag and drop the marker can be drawn , which should be linked to the image. For this purpose in the tabs / fields, select the relevant marker ( cursor behind "or" set , so that the color mark will appear ) , then click the name of the marker right over the attributes , hold down and drag it to the target field ( Notes by red arrows). Then Comments can be added in addition to the mark . With "Save Metadata " of the linkage process is complete. Working with image section links and stored image details In the editor after opening the image tools shows the button , the button " show annotation " existing image marks on . The image can be displayed > Image Tools under My archives and compared with the image editing tool / edited etc. .
