The National Energy and Transportation Planning Tool (NETPLAN) is a modeling framework to optimize the long-term investment portfolios of the two systems. It utilizes multiobjective optimization to find the best solutions in terms of cost, sustainability and resiliency. The project's website can be accessed here.

The software is currently prepared to be run on servers at Iowa State's ECpE department. Please check the list of available Linux servers.
