For general terms, go here.
Term | Abbreviation | Definition |
---|---|---|
LaneSense | LKAS | Stock lane keeping system (can turn the wheel, you need this.) |
Adaptive Cruise Control | ACC | Stock cruise control system with radar that paces the vehicle in front of you (you need this.) |
Fiat Chrysler of America | FCA | You'll see this term a lot. It just groups Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, etc into one. |
2019+ Jeep Cherokee (KL) (all trims) * minimum steer speed 32 mph (Confirmed in 2019 model with ACC and LaneSense)
To add openpilot to one of the above vehicles, a comma two (c2) or newer is required, and FCA Harness. The official openpilot releases from comma work with the above vehicles except the Jeep Cherokee (KL) which is supported by a community-maintained fork.
Control over the steering wheel.
Chrysler Pacifica and Jeep Grand Cherokee models years 2017-2018 can steer down to 9 mph.
Jeep Cherokee model year 2019 can steer down to 32 mph.
Model years 2019 and later can start steering once reaching 39 mph, and then steer down to approximately 30 mph.
Control over the gas and brakes.
Longitudinal control is provided by the stock system that came with the car.
Owners of Ram 1500's interested in making openpilot work with their trucks would need a comma two (c2) and Dev Harness, outfitted with connectors as found in this document: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AhlEjIwibjKfiZojQ_EU934HfcvMHA?e=mOVWBh. Discord user Tunder has a working fork for Ram 1500's. It is in active development, and does NOT conform to comma's safety standards. It has working lateral control as of March 28, 2021. Ram 1500 owners are encouraged to contribute to the development and upstreaming of the Ram port to comma's openpilot repo as a community supported vehicle. The software can be found here: https://github.com/Tundergit/waifupilot.git, branch 082-testing. Use of this fork is entirely at your own risk, and nobody but you is responsible for anything that happens as a result of the use of any documents or software linked on this page.
Ram 2500 and 3500's equipped with Active LaneSense may also be eligible candidates, late models have an electric assist motor that may be actuable.
Ram models with the radar behind the mirror may be openpilot longitudinal support eligble, and is something that will be investigated in the future.
2014-2018 Chrysler 200, 2014-2019 Jeep Cherokee (KL), late model Jeep Renegade, late model Jeep Compass, 2014-2018 Dodge Chargers, 2014-2018 Chrysler 300 equipped with ACC and LaneSense
These vehicles work with openpilot via a fork maintained by Discord member, Tunder. Those interested should contact Tunder directly, as the fork is highly experimental and in active development. It can be found, and forked, from https://github.com/Tundergit/waifupilot.git, branch: 200-devel. *** This implementation does NOT conform to safety standards enforced by comma. Use of this fork is entirely at your own risk, and nobody but you is responsible for anything that happens as a result of the use of any documents or software linked on this page.
Owners of the above vehicles will need a comma two (c2) or newer and Dev Harness, outfitted with the connectors found in this document: https://1drv.ms/b/s!AhlEjIwibjKfiZoczAAEKfpPBOIE-w?e=SjJmJQ
