Cliffs

Cliffs Image

The Cliffs biome, or more formally, Clifford T. Raverse, was wildly misunderstood as a child, but soon overshadowed his peers. Compared to the Cliffs, Mountains are nothing.

The Cliffs is a very tall mountain with an inner valley of Rolling Hills. The Rolling Hills inside look like this:

Generation

The Cliffs generate most often in snowy climates, at around 4/5 the frequency of a Snowy Taiga. Cliffs also generate in cool climates a little more than half (3/5) as often as a non-snowy Taiga. Lastly, the Cliffs have a chance to generate in temperate climates slightly less than half (2/5) as often as Dark Forests The biome generates in two parts:

  • Cliffs (traverse:cliffs): The giant stone walls formed in the world.
  • Rolling Hills (traverse:rolling_hills): Rolling hills generate in the parts surrounded by Cliffs to form valleys within the cliff walls. Learn more about the Rolling Hills biome on its page.

Climate

The Cliffs vary in climates, but are always rarer than any vanilla Minecraft biomes. They are most frequently in snowy climates, but also appear in cool and temperate climates. The cliffs manage to shield the snowy weather from the Rolling Hills within, keeping the temperatures warmer but maintain the moisture required for the luscious greens.
