How to make corrections to shows on DuckieTV
So you added a show to your DuckieTV favourites, but you discover that some details are incorrect. How do you go about fixing this?
If the show is Anime, read this wiki instead.
As you may know, DuckieTV fetches show information from Trakt.TV, which in turn uses data from TMDB.
TMDB is used for the top level show info like title, year, genres, country and for all the season and episode info.
Sidenote: Trakt.tv used to also aggregate TVDB data but on March 2021 they stopped using this source provider.
Get yourself registered on TMDB so you can submit updates to the shows! See the TMDB Bible for details.
Updates you make will get picked up by Trakt.TV during its update cycle, and then passed in turn to DuckieTV when it does its own update cycle (Once every 1 to 12 hours, depending on your settings).
NOTE: It can take up to a few days before Trakt.tv updates a series info, but if you are a VIP on Trakt.tv you can force a series to update it's info at any time.
For more information of Trakt.tv's use of TMDB see these articles here and here.
You can check what DuckieTV knows about a show by going to that show's detail page.
In order for the show to be correctly placed in the calendar (adjusted to your local date/time) the show needs to have to correct Country loaded for the Network that is broadcasting the original show.
For example, The Block is broadcast by Nine Network in Australia. So you need to add or edit The Block on TMDB so that the Country is Australia.
This in turn allows Trakt.TV to set the timezone so that DuckieTV can display the episode date/time correctly for your locale.
As you may know, for some series, the episode broadcast naming scheme is not the one that the torrent scene use for the most seeded episode torrent names. For example, the broadcast of American Pickers episode S2017E01 has the most popular
torrents under the name American Pickers S16E14.
DuckieTV uses an Entity Cross Reference site called theXem.de to resolve these differences. If you find that an episodes is incorrectly referenced, consider joining #xem on irc.freenode.net and see if you can talk to someone about getting that series' table updated.
DuckieTV fetches updates daily to keep the cross references up to date.
