KAT Medical Changelog

Notable Changes

  • New Item: Advanced Airway Treatment Kit
    • Simulating a pre-prepared sterilized kit designed for the treatment of various airway related medical conditions
    • Used to treat Hemothorax and Tension Pneumothorax
  • New Medical Conditions: Hemothorax and Tension Pneumothorax
    • Treated through the application of the AAT Kit
    • Occuring as a chance (configurable in KAT Breathing, defaulting to a 5% chance) after a patient has suffered a Pneumothorax
    • Required treatment level is configured in the KAT Breathing settings, defaulting to Medics
  • Configurable Pneumothorax Damage Threshold
    • Previously, KAT Medical relied on a static damage threshold for any shots to the chest before considering the configurable Pneumothorax chance. For some units, even with the Pneumothorax chance set to a >40% chance, it still ocurred too infrequently. To deal with this, we have introduced a new configuration in the KAT Breathing section to allow units to set their own damage threshold. The threshold is calculated on a per damage event, rather than cumulative.
  • Configurable Treatment Time for Tourniquets
    • To encourage more use of Tourniquets, we have added a configuration (located in the KAT Circulation section) for the treatment time.
    • This addition is popular enough that ACE is adding their own configuration in a coming update, so this setting will likely be removed in a future release
  • Performance Improvements!
    • Our dedicated devs have spent time examining the places in our code where we are regularly calculating a patient's conditions and adressing potential issues around duplicate processing. The effect of this is that there should be a small performance improvement and certain conditions (such as airway occlusions) will occur less frequently
    • A part of this change modified the calculation for SpO2 and the default values for the Big and Small SpO2 change settings have changed. We encourage that units examine their existing configurations and adjust accordingly.
  • Translation Updates
    • Thanks to Skarx and his [TFH] Team, with corrections by Fanrod & his associate group called K.H.4, we have updated translations, including the addition of French! We are always looking for individuals willing to contribute translations, so please feel free to open a Pull Request with changes or reach out to the developers in the KAT Medical discord.
  • Bugfixes!
    • o2 behavior should be more consistent
    • Items introduced by KAT medical should now be properly consumed (sorry medics, y'all will have to actually carry more supplies now)
  • Variable Name Change
    • There had been a classname change for pneumothorax variable(KAT_medical_airwayCollapsed changed to KAT_medical_pneumothorax) so if you have any missions with scripts operating with it, you will have to adjust them - a necessary change.
