These are the functions that so far have been identified as optional or enhancements to the core tasks of project, i.e. not necessarily to be included in the beta

  1. Motivational feedback. Penguin watch style: e.g. 'Great, you've transcribed 20 words! Do you want to continue or move on?'

  2. Pointer to different features in the subject. E.g. 'You've transcribed 5 words! Are there any unusual features on the subject?'. If yes, move to hypertext marking tool.

  3. Possible new spelling variant alert. VARG developers would be happy to work together on this. There is a Java API that could be used, but it still needs hosting (AWS?).
