Feature request: Completely remove contact

I don't know the reasoning behind not being able to remove contacts. It's a strange approach and serves no purpose as far as I can tell. For me it's a deal breaker and possibly many others.

I have been searching and found some discussions about this, the solution provided is that you block the user...
That's not a real solution. Just because I don't want the contact in my list doesn't necessarily mean I want the user to be blocked to contact me (I assume that's what "block" do)

So, my feature request is; the ability to completely remove contacts.

I wish some wire staff would clarify how the existing setup currently works. From the sounds of it - contacts can still send you messages, but the wire service doesn't relay those messages to your devices. That's an unacceptable method in my opinion. However, an explanation of how it currently works may give some clarity and better understanding as to why it is how it is.

Wire allows you to delete messages you have already sent, let us at least delete contacts.

It's strange not to be able to completely erase one contact. I also ask to implement this new option as soon as possible.

We're hearing more of this from our users, and keeping it in mind for the future.
In the meantime, simply block users with whom you don't wish to be in touch with.

Blocking is not a solution. What if you want to remove traces of contact but keep line of communication open?? this is totally insane to have a feature like this missing from a privacy oriented messenger. especially since Wire has access to our contact list.

I really need to remove my ex from my contact list in order to achieve emotional closure from a painful breakup. I blocked her and then I unblocked her. Weird. Anyway what I want is to remove all communication information so that I cannot contact her without re-entering the pseudonym.

What if you want to remove traces of contact but keep line of communication open??

Worst part is it doesn't remove all traces, as there is still must be an invisible list of your blocked users, otherwise they wouldn't show up as blocked when you search for them again. I mean, the "block" wouldn't work otherwise.
