Moving Wegue to own organization
Wegue was founded by me a couple of years ago as a small template for applications based on Vue and OpenLayers. Therefore the project was published as Open Source Software under the Github organization of my company "meggsimum". Since things evolve and thankfully the Wegue project has build up its own community it is time to reflect this in by giving Wegue its own Github organization. Some words why this step is done:
Sadly I am currently not really focused on Vue projects in my daily work and I am very busy with other things. Therefore it is really hard to follow the great changesets and pull requests from the community and judge them properly due to missing time. This can have a blocking character, which is surely no good. By decoupling Wegue from the meggsimum organization things do not have to go over my desk anymore. Furthermore the community can review and discuss incoming things and judge, which feels way more like a "real" Open Source project. This is a really good thing and opens up a lot of possibilities.
I granted the most active committers of the last years commit rights, so merging in new code is not tight to me in person anymore. After a proper review process - like in other Open Source projects - any of the core committers can hit the merge button if no one vetoed.
We as meggsimum do not break up with Wegue. We continue to use Wegue and contribute back whenever possible. @JakobMiksch and myself will stay part of the "core team". Furthermore we still offer commercial support for Wegue.
For general questions and discussions our gitter Channel is surely a good place: https://gitter.im/wegue/community
So be sure to update your upstream remote to https://github.com/wegue-oss/wegue.git / [email protected]:wegue-oss/wegue.git
