Python packaging has gone a long way from EGGs. We want to handle all available packaging in PyPi. This is a major task that requires the following:

Python source handling/hashing
Python specific C code handling
Python packaging awareness (wheels, eggs, zips, tars)
charon manager implementation for PyPi packages
