I think it will be great for this module to come with stats for you as project mantainers - every row could be sent to you in order to improve the general codebase with the problems that are met by most of the merchants.

A switch for participation is a must, many people don't care for such statistics but some do.

I very much agree, that would be quite nice and easy way for core dev to track overall health of the system.
