Running our own infrastructure is a fun technical challenge, It is also a way of helping other projects to achieve decentralization. However Swarm City should be able to run on, and fallback to any public infrastructure.
Any exception breaks the promise of being truly decentralized.
The choice to deploy any infrastructure should be based on provable speed increases. Reliability, availability features should not be a factor when deciding to deploy infrastructure, if it is then the feature set is over reaching and needs re-thinking.
The only responsibility we should have is the domain name and the associated DNS, even this can have a fall back to a .onion domain.
