This update adds a new planet, the Nightmist. Exploring the planet will lead you to encounter bygone ruins of the plagued city, as well as a new boss within the underground depths.

New QoL features such as the Arcana Music Box, Boss Checklist and tutorial guides have been added, to ease your journey through Arcana's progression.

Lastly, this update adds Set Bonuses to many of Arcana's armor sets, new Animus Weapons and more! For a full list of the changes, see # for the changelog.

Detailed Changelog:

  • Added the Nightmist, a new planet enshrouded in darkness, found in Illuminated Stars.

  • Added the Cemetery, a new biome in Nightmist and Midnight planets.

  • Added the ||Plague Doctor||, an optional challenge boss.

  • Added the Soulsea Crypt, a new surface & underground dungeon found in Nightmist planets.

  • Added new catacomb themed blocks & furniture.

  • Added a new rocket launcher for the legendary treasure pool, Enoch.

  • Added the Shadow Step tech, a dash with a short immunity time.

  • Added a new T7 armor set, the Mist Rider Set.

  • Added a new T6 armor set, the Corekeeper Set.

  • Added set bonuses to Aegis, Aeon, Alchemilla, Anima, Astraea, Corekeeper, Frostclad, Gearshift, Horncaster, Lepidoptera, Machinist, Mist Rider, Morphosis, Offworld, Prima, Sleepwalker, and Verrostin sets. Some sets stats are rebalanced to fit with the set bonuses.

  • Aegis Set: +20% Damage while using a Shield.

  • Aeon Set: +5% Physical RES, +15% Speed, +15% Aeon weapon damage.

  • Alchemilla Set: +15% Poison RES, Poison Immunity.

  • Anima Set: +10% Animus weapon and Katana damage, +10% Fire RES. 2 Piece set.

  • Astraea Set: +20% Max Energy, +10% Magic damage.

  • Corekeeper Set: +5% Fire, Ice, Electric and Poison RES.

  • Frostclad Set: +20% Ice RES, Frost Immunity.

  • Gearshift Set: +10% Titancorp weapon damage. Recover Health to max and gain +40% Speed for 30s when Health drops below 60%, Cooldown 120s. Needs 120s to charge up.

  • Horncaster Set: +10% Physical RES, +15% Magic damage, +60% Energy Regen Rate.

  • Lepidoptera Set: +10% Light RES, +10% Magic, Spear and Lance damage.

  • Machinist Set: +5% Fire RES, +10% Axe and Hammer damage.

  • Mist Rider Set: +20% Damage when there's a monster with more health than you within 50 tiles.

  • Morphosis Set: +5% Poison RES. +10% Physical RES while using a Shield. 2 Piece set.

  • Offworld Set: +10% Electric RES, +40% Energy Regen Rate, +10% Ranged damage.

  • Prima Set: +15% Electric RES, +20% Max Energy.

  • Sleepwalker Set: +15% Katana and Dagger damage.

  • Verrostin Set: +10% Verrostin weapon, Rocket Launcher and Blast Rifle damage.

  • Added the Arcana Music Box, for playing the Arcana soundtracks!

  • Added a new track, Moonshine, for Nightmist planets.

  • Added the Auto Trash, a feature for automatically cleaning unwanted items from your inventory, now with a slider & checkbox for adjusting frequency settings.

  • Added the Arcana Guidebook, a reworked tutorial book for beginner progression. This also includes the liquid index, as well as a boss checklist for finding bosses.

  • Added more contributor hats from the Halloween event!   • Adjusted the texture for the Atlas.

  • Shortened file paths for Ursa & Molten Knight projectiles.
  • Shortened file names for recipes. Removed unused essence trader and blueprint recipes.
  • Shortened file names & paths for arrowblack, arrowwhite and arrowyellow particles.
  • Shortened file paths for most objects. Folders like arcana_gilten_deco_1 are shortened to deco_1. Category folders have been moved to the /objects/arcana folder.
  • Shortened file name for arcana_console.animation & related files.
  • Added prefixes to object folders that didn't have any.
  • Removed unused boss folders for hue, voidDeformity and seekerOfDust.
  • Removed unused fullbright image for workshop_deco_10, workshop_deco_11, workshop_deco_12, workshop_deco_13, workshop_deco_18, workshop_deco_19, workshop_deco_20 and workshop_door_1.
  • Shortened file name for arcana_console_fullbright_animated.animation.
  • Unused images body_assembler2, body_laserPrinter , body_fabricator and the hover / item icon images have been removed. Burnt cake recipe has been removed from the Foundry.

Balance:

  • Reduced Altair SMG's energy cost and increased damage and burst rate.
  • Increased damage and projectile count for the Terminator's primary fire. Increased energy cost and reduced projectile count for its alt fire.
  • Adjusted the Serpent and Architect sets; they're now moved to tier 8 crafting but have the same stats.
  • Adjusted elemental types for several weapons, notably the boss related weapons.
  • Adjusted Shining Sea undergrounds to have its own biome, with more Atla Gold ore spawns.
  • Slightly decreased projectile damage and increased teleport cooldown time for Evolapis's final phase.
  • Slightly decreased damage for Cosmo Nemesis's meteors and reduced health for their minions.
  • Increased vulnerability time by 2s for the Mage King to shorten the fight duration.

Compatibility:

  • Added compatibility with Planet Search for Arcana dungeons. Updated icons for several dungeons.
  • Added Nightmist and Red Terminus planet types to Truespace's dark stars.
  • The Foundry, Lathe and Assembler's recipes are now automatically filled by the scroll menu, and their UI descriptions are now auto-filled as well.
  • Automation machines now use the lua script /scripts/cfpower.lua from the new version of Community Framework by @Emmaker. This is a new version of the framework mod, which only has scripts & functionality for modders and doesn't have the quickbar or collection changes. Any related scripts now uses cfpower as the prefix instead of cf_power.
  • The Community Framework mod will be required for Arcana's machines in the next patch. In the meantime, cfpower.lua as well as cf_power.lua are temporarily included in Arcana to help with transitioning, make sure to subscribe to the Framework if you haven't done so already.
