The cmdb suite of programs is a Configuration Management Database and
Automated Build System. There are programs to create build files, both
preseed and kickstart, a DNS manipluation program, and a cmdb program.

Data can be stored in a MySQL or SQLite database.

The CMDB program can store servers, customers, their contact details, and
services running on the servers. It will also store hardware details for
servers.

To install binaries under /usr/local but use system /var and /etc configure
as:

  ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
