…pulation without covering low access rural and unpopulated forested regions. NOTE: the lookup operation between wa_censusTracts + sfs_domain map still follows census defined pumas, and not the clipped shapes. This preserves census data hierarchies for analysis, but doesn't preserve the visual 1-to-1 overlap between census tracts and pumas.. Thus, one can think of the new border shaps as mapping rural areas into higher-density areas nearby to make areal plots better match population density..
