Texas Election Results Collection

OpenElections collects precinct-level election results for Texas elections. Here's our process:

After an election, we usually wait 7-10 weeks before requesting original files sent to the Texas Secretary of State by county clerks and election administrators. Those files, which typically are spreadsheets, text files and PDFs, usually cover at least 200 of the state's 254 counties, leaving between 30-50 to request from individual counties.

Any original source files are placed in a year-specific folder in this repository. Our practice is not to change the name of the file unless what is sent to us has no identifying information. In those cases, our convention is to name the file using the following template: County TX Year Election.extension - an example would be Hudspeth TX 2016 general.pdf.
