using zsh (to enable the **), that upgrades all our source to Python 3.9+.

This is a quite big change and I didn't review the pyupgrade changes, but I have used it in other projects before and it worked flawlessly yet. I also tried:
But even py312+ pyupgrade level did not yield many changes, so guess we are fine with py39+ for now. |
