Backport of #21605
This PR includes a way more changes than the original one. As the menu related improvements to UI tests were done on 5.x only, I had to update a lot more expected screenshots.
There are also some UI tests failing for CustomAlerts and CustomVariables, but those need to be updated in the plugins, once this one was merged.
