The custom name for the COVID max metric aggregation query should be "max_deaths", instead of "total_deaths".
There're two corrections in section 4.6.2 (MEAP v11): 1. lack of multi data type 'keyword' for the field 'filename'; 2. when add new document to the index emails, the field name should be "to" instead of "to:" in Listing 4.25
