makes sense but I wonder if in client mode simply not setting the key/cert would set OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_PEER (while by default it stays OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_PEER|OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_FAIL_IF_NO_PEER_CERT) and thus no need for the extra flag
