Inkjet Plumber is a small utility program that can be used to automatically send a small print job to your printer(s) at a user specified interval (in hours). It is intended to be used by infrequent Inkjet printer users who would like to automatically send a scheduled print job to their printer(s) to prevent them from being idle for long periods of time.
The main window is simply a log of Inkjet Plumber activity since program startup. It shows the printers that were discovered, as well as a record of when maintenance jobs are sent to your printer(s). An example screen shot is shown below:
When you click on the red (close) button in the window title, Inkjet Plumber will hide itself and remain running in the background. When Inkjet Plumber is running, a small icon will appear in the menuBar area on your Mac. You may use this menuBar to interact with Inkjet Plumber by clicking on the icon and accessing the context menu. The menuBar icon looks like this:
Once you have installed Inkjet Plumber, click on the menuBar icon and choose the "Preferences..." menu item. This will open a dialog box where you may change the settings that control how Inkjet Plumber functions.
By default, Inkjet Plumber should discover all of the print drivers you have installed and each newly added printer will be disabled by default. You must enable the maintenance job for each printer that you wish to use.
Inkjet Plumber is currently only available on the Mac OSX operating system 10.8 and higher.
