Accessing the Repo

Create GitHub Account

Sign up for a GitHub account if you don’t already have one.

Provide your GitHub account email

In order to view the private playtest repository, you must manually be given access. Submit your GitHub account email to be added the repository.

Get GitHub Desktop

Download and install the GitHub Desktop app.

Sign into GitHub Desktop

Clone the m-ex-root repo

NOTE: you can only perform this step after your account has been granted access to the repo.

  1. Select File in the top left and choose repository.
  2. Select the m-ex-root repo and select Clone.

Playing Locally

Select a branch

Select "Current branch" in GitHub Desktop to change the branch. This will need to be changed depending on what is being tested. Select the branch you would like to test by selecting its name and waiting for it to finish switching.

View the repo

To view the repo on your computer, select Repository on the top toolbar and select “Show in Explorer”

Launch the game

To launch the game, open the DolphinMainline folder and launch Dolphin.exe. This Dolphin build is preconfigured to work with the Wii U / Mayflash controller adapter and launch the game. At this point, all you should need to do is select the Akaneia Build from the game list in Dolphin.

Receiving updates

To receive the latest development updates, simply select "Fetch Origin" to pull the latest version of the repo.

Building an ISO (for use on Slippi)

  1. Open the mexTool program in the repo.

  1. Open the Akaneia filesysten by selecting File > Open Filesystem.

  1. Select the repository folder.

  1. If prompted to update codes, select no.

  1. Export as an iso and launch with Slippi!
