Alpha 3

This is the third alpha release for Adapt It Mobile, focusing on usability issues found during initial testing. We've also added some color to the UI to brighten things up a bit.

Also in this release is a change to the toolbar on the adaptation page. Previously, the toolbar was a collapsible side menu. The mechanics of having a collapsible side menu turned out to be confusing in practice, so we've replaced it with an always-open toolbar just below the title bar in the UI. There are also Previous and Next buttons that allow you to accept the current edit(s) and move to the previous or next available edit fields. This works like the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, should you happen to be using Adapt It Mobile with a Bluetooth keyboard.

For more information on the changes in this release, refer to the full list of closed issues for milestone 0.4.

First Alpha Release

This release includes basic functionality that should allow early adopters to create / copy a new project, import documents into that project and start basic adaptation. It is not to be considered feature complete, but close enough to be able to perform basic adaptation operations with it.

This is an alpha release, meaning that it should not be used in a production environment (i.e., an active translation project). There are no guarantees of data integrity nor reliability. The purpose is for early adopters to try the application out and provide feedback early on in the development process. We'd really appreciate it -- and you'll end up with a better product once it's released. :-)

This release corresponds to milestone 0.3.0: https://github.com/adapt-it/adapt-it-mobile/issues?q=milestone%3A%22Milestone+0.30%22

Milestone 0.2.5

Features:

  • Create new project
  • Copy project from an existing .aic (Adapt It Desktop) project file
  • Edit project settings
  • Import document (can be .txt, .usfm, .usx, or Adapt It Desktop .XML document format)
  • Adapt document

Notes and known issues:

  • This is to be considered pre-alpha. Data consistency is not guaranteed, and AIM will probably eat your documents for dinner. If you come across an area where an imported document is missing text, please write up an issue so we can fix it. (Please also attach your document so we can track down the problem quicker).
  • Document adaptation is still in its infancy. I'm not convinced that the knowledge base is updating properly.
  • Project settings are not hooked up yet, nor is there any way to export the data once it's been imported. These features are coming in a later milestone release.
