Applying the Trigger sf is not valid for pT<500. In that region the SF can be <=0 which would set bin contents to 0 and could yield in features in pt ~500 Gev due to the smearing. In regions pT>500 GeV applying the SF would not change things since the quantile is evaluated in bins of pT and the SF would be cancelled out.
