Human-GEM is deposited as a publicly accessible repository on GitHub and openly curated by researchers worldwide. Metabolic Atlas and Human-GEM are tightly coupled as an integrated exploratory knowledgebase for serving the research community.
The curation of Human-GEM is an ongoing long-term process. It can be done largely in two ways:
- git-based operations (forking Human-GEM to local, and then making pull requests after committing proposed changes)
- report errors or suggest changes to specific reactions, genes, or metabolites by making issues
Any actions (pull requests or issues) made to Human-GEM will be reviewed before acceptance, and credited as contributions by using allcontributors. For more guidance on curation process see the Contributing guidelines.
With time, we hope to build an efficient and ease-to-use workflow to ensure convenient curation based on the "radical transparency" principle for reproducible research.
