About

  Neverending Dream is an RPG made in Python about a boy who prefers dreams over reality. He has a cat that he loves, but feels the "real" world is boring, gray, and empty otherwise. Everyday he must drag himself out of bed to work at Gener Inc., earning just enough money for a little food and sleep. In his dreams, however, friends are lovable and the world is colorful and fun. As he delves deeper into the dream world, though, dark secrets start to seep out of the seams: something is watching him, and is trapping him in its illusions. Ultimately, he must decide between the real world and dream world, as one world suffers the more he stays in the other.

Inspirations

  I came across the Omori trailer again, and was inspired to create a surreal psychological RPG with horror elements. I was also inspired by just how clever and how much heart the creator of Undertale put into their game. Unfortunately, I can't install Unity (a game engine) because my little computer cannot handle such a large program size, and other game engines cost money while also being limited in functionality. Thus, I decided to use Python 3.6. I knew some basics of Python 3.6 already, but I am practically a stranger to anything beyond the basics, including Pygame. However, I am up to the challenge of learning! I hope that I can finish this year with a hundred times more knowledge than when I began it! Let's enjoy this journey together.
