#### Disable feature 40729001 (Windows 11 Explorer) ![image](https://github.com/LesFerch/WinSetView/assets/79026235/31d5617f-6617-4e14-9b8e-0efb2c2b9896)

**Update**: As of Windows 11 build revision 3085 (KB5034204) this option no longer has any effect.

The new, App SDK based, version of Explorer in Windows 11 has many shortcomings. Among them, no support for drag and drop to folders via the address bar and no direct editing of metadata in the Details pane. It also has some annoying quirks like trimming trailing spaces in the search bar if you pause too long. You can get back the previous Explorer, that does not have those issues, by disabling feature 40729001.

**Note**: Going back to the previous Explorer means giving up full tab support (i.e. no tear or join tabs). Also note that the option "Also apply this template to all subfolders" is broken in both old and new Explorers. You have to go back to the Windows 10 Explorer to get that functionality.

**Note**: This option will not appear if your computer is in dark mode, as it is not compatible (text will be black). If you previously enabled this option while in light mode, clicking Submit in WinSetView will automatically clear this setting so that you will be returned to light text on a dark background.

When this option is enabled, rows in List and Details views are closer together, icon spacing is slightly different, and file names in icon views are not wrapped.
When this option is enabled, rows in List and Details views are closer together, icon spacing is slightly different, and file names in icon views only wrap on certain characters, such as spaces and hyphens.

Also, when this option enabled, you can freely rearrange files and folders in Details and Icon views, but those arrangements will be forgotten when the folder is closed, unless you are running Windows 7, Windows 8.x, or a Windows 10 build that is lower than 1703.
