YR-ARM is an autonomous robot that has a mechanical arm with embedded chess algorithm that can physically play chess with a human. It's hardware is equipped with a AVR microcontroller programmed in C. Each chess move is generated using the alpha-beta pruning algorithm. Computer vision is used for the detection of the board position.
The project was awarded the winner of Hardware Competition on LOCUS 2018 and SRIJANA-The Innovation 2018.
