@jritten thank you for these improvements, and especially for sharing the links to more detailed info about each of these known instances. I just resolved a merge conflict with main, and also made some minor formatting changes. Need to review the provided links to better understand the details of these known instances. |

@jritten I did a quick scan of most of these.
It seems that while they are using the word ambassador/champion as well, they describe quote different concepts from what we meant in this pattern.
Most of these are aimed at generating and spreading more knowledge about a given product/technology. In that sense they are the same as our InnerSource Ambassador.
Another similarity is that they will try to tap into a group of users (or community), that the given org/company normally does not have access to.
However they always focus "outside" of the given company e.g. the IBM Campion will try to generate more knowledge about IBM technology "outside of IBM", rather than sharing it "inside of IBM".
So in that sense these champions seem to be doing activities more similar to "developer advocates" or even "marketing" activites.
If we wanted to list these other programs in this pattern, we could possibly list them under "Rationale" in the sense of "look, here are others that are doing something similar.
We should list them under "Known Instances" though, as those are supposed to be orgs that have implemented the given pattern in their InnerSource practice! (following that logic we should not have listed SAP there either actually. sorry if that lead to this confusion)

open-source champions amplify our internal open-source community. They are open-source experts and enthusiasts and help to share open-source knowledge between peers and colleagues. At the same time, they are sparring partners for questions related to improving the usage of open source at SAP. They all come from diverse backgrounds and many countries, and have specialized career paths, which makes the network even more valuable.
I interpret this as:
- who can be an ambassadors: SAP employees
- who do the ambassadors help: focus internally (i.e. they help other SAP employees)
