Upgrade dependencies of react website #893

The outdated npm packages of react website need to be upgraded so that the open PRs made by dependabot are taken care of. All the dependency upgrades are to done via one PR to avoid multiple micro commits on the default branch.

Upgrades client dependencies (#893 and #1028)

 - Upgrades client npm dependencies and refactors
    tests to work with the new versions of dependencies.
 - Makes the naming conventions of react hooks compliant
   with standard practices.
