I needed phone number fields in our RailsAdmin installation to be auto-formatted, and the auto-formatting needed to handle all international numbers (not just US.)
This gem adds a new field type to RailsAdmin, :phone_number_field
.
In a particular RailsAdmin model config, you might have something like the following:
config.model "User" do
edit do
include_all_fields
field :cell_number, :phone_number_field
end
end
In order to get the formatting functionality, you also need to add the included js/PhoneFormat.js
and js/phone-number-input.js.coffee
files to your rails app's javascripts
directory, and add the following to the my_app/rails_app/custom/ui.js.coffee
(or, convert it to plain JS if you'd like) file:
//= require PhoneFormat
//= require phone-number-input
$(document).bind 'rails_admin.dom_ready', ->
$('.rails-admin-phone-number-field').each ->
$(this).phoneNumberInput()
That's it!
