Forced recovery mode

  1. Turn off the unit.
  2. Remove the head
  3. Turn on the unit and wait until it's lights turn solid RED
  4. Put the head back
  5. Connect to the unit over Ethernet cable like the first time you booted with 169.254.1.2
  6. Select what you want to preserve

Preserve All

  • Preserve User Settings [x]
  • Preserve System Settings [x]

This combination will keep the system and user settings intact. Only the system bundles will be restored to default versions. Basically it does a system bundle roll back to factory settings.

Preserve user settings Only

  • Preserve User Settings [x]
  • Preserve System Settings [ ]

If you don't want to preserve any system settings uncheck "Preserve System Settings" option and continue. This combination will wipe the system all partitions but will preserve user settings. After system restoring is finished you will be presented with a restore wizard to select which particular setting type you would like to restore. Those include gcodes, network settings, task history...

Fresh system

  • Preserve User Settings [ ]
  • Preserve System Settings [ ]

If for some reason you would like to clear the whole system and start a fresh new boot you don't have to flash the SD card. This combination will trigger system and user partition wipe and will restore the whole system to factory settings.

Note: Firmware is not affected by the recovery procedure.
