The primary objective of this PR was to overhaul the README to read better but then quickly found that due to old versions of Python support here, builds couldn't pass. It's time we modernize at least the matrix of Python versions this tool can be used with and cut the first major release:

  • Drops support for Python earlier than 3.7
  • Adds support for Python 3.10-3.12
  • Overhauls dev tooling for this project

They won't pass till systems removes the old required checks. Feel free to stamp if you're feelin good about it and those will eventually resolve.
