Funnel
A general item transfer component, transitioning items between means of transportation. Can be controlled with a redstone signal.
General Behaviour: The open face will collect ground items in the block space in front of it and insert them into any container on the opposite side of the funnel.
When mounted on belts, depots, and similar: Collects or Places items onto the mounted component, from or to the inventory behind itself. Whenever the funnel has specific directionality, it can be controlled using a Wrench.
When vertically between two inventories: Will transfer items downward, much like a buffer-less hopper.
The Andesite Funnel is a basic mechanical component that moves items in and out of inventories.
The Brass Funnel is a more advanced version of the Andesite Funnel that can be filtered to only move specific items.
Andesite Funnels can be created through the following methods:
Recipe | Input | Output |
---|---|---|
Crafting: 2 Andesite Alloy 2 Dried Kelp |
2 Andesite Funnels |
Brass Funnels can be created through the following methods:
Method | Input | Output |
---|---|---|
Crafting: 2 Brass Ingots 1 Dried Kelp 1 Electron Tube |
2 Brass Funnels |
A funnel can be placed on any side of any block that has an inventory, such as an Adjustable Crate. Any item that ends up in the block space in front of the funnel will automatically be placed in the attached inventory.
A funnel placed directly above a Depot or a Mechanical Belt can move items on and off the Belt or Depot. A funnel at either end of a belt will either input or output items depending on the belt's direction, while a funnel placed on a Depot or perpendicularly to the belt can either input or output items and can have its direction reversed by right-clicking with a Wrench.
The Brass Funnel has a filter slot in which any item can be placed, thereby setting the funnel to only move the specified item. Alternatively, a Filter or Attribute Filter can be placed in the slot to have more precise control over what items are and are not taken by the funnel. This can be used as a component for bulk item processing such that items will not be taken by the funnel until the relevant processing recipes have been applied.
