Move current epoch updates to a better named branch without a constantly open pr.
This first commit just adds a new branch. We can remove the PR action and close that PR/delete the old branch once we've moved everything over.
Note that this is a branch off #94, so those deltas are there too. They should go away after that is merged and perhaps this is rebased.
